Dates back to the 9th c. It is laid out round the church built over the 13th and 14th c., with a bell tower rising to 54.5m. To admire nearby: 17th and 18th c. doors and town mansions, Fontaine du Griffe, door of the Maison Gilibert, imposing gate of the Hôtel de Thémines and courtyard of the Auberge, now the Culture and Heritage centre. Montagnac has 3488 inhabitants and its main resources are wine (very large winery and many estates) and tourism (classified as a "Green resort").

• Craftwork market at night every Tuesday in July and August from 7 to 11 p.m.

A prestigious real estate project: The domaine de Lavagnac
A beautiful golf course will be created by Raymond Hearn, one of the most talented American architects. The castle, known as the Versailles of Languedoc because of its dimensions and of its water gardens will become a deluxe complex with a 4-star hotel, a spa and a conference centre.
