Art and History
« Villes et Pays d’Art et d’Histoire (towns and regions of art and history) is a label awarded by the Architecture and Heritage Department of the Ministry of Culture to territories committed to enhancing their heritage by developing active tourism (exhibitions, guided tours, etc.) and building environmental awareness in the local population and the young (educational activities).
PĂ©zenas region of art and history was created in 2002 and gathers 8 municipalities. Heritage is understood in a broad sense : monuments, all kinds of buildings from the Middle Ages to the 21st century, nature, industrial sites and buildings.
